PS (Personal Style)- New Year’s Eve Red Maxi Dress and Max = Mission Impossible

Today, I am invited to a black tie New Year’s Eve party which I am sure will be amazing. However, the question that haunted me for a few days regarding what to wear to a black tie event, was immediately answered when I saw my red maxi silk taffeta dress in my closet downstairs.

I had bought it years ago from a Harvey Nichols sale. I love Harvey Nichols sales! Best bargains ever!!!! As for the thought, why would I need a dark red silk taffeta gown in January, never crossed my mind. I wanted to have it – for that price- and would wear it and feel like a princess some day!

A few days ago, we were baby boxer sitting Maximo. Perfect timing for a photo- shoot! He would help me pose… Hahaha as you will see in the photographs it was mission impossible. He was so excited with my red gown he sat still only after we were done. I wore my Pianoforte di Max Mara dress with a pair of green satin Christian Louboutin sandals.

I love that I don’t have to think what to wear on top of the gown. The dress was sold with an oversized taffeta shawl same material as the dress.

If you ask me, this is the right time to buy an evening gown? When it is on sale! You will treasure it forever and when the occasion arises you don’t need to get frustrated… You will just enjoy buying a pair of new shoes to update the look.
