A few weeks ago, we visited the amazing retrospective photographic exhibition of Helmut Newton at the Onassis Cultural Centre. I was really excited because I missed the opening and I really wanted see, close up, his revolutionary work. I always admired his unique way of photographing fashion, beauty, sensuality and violence. The legendary fashion photography of Helmut Newton (1920-2004) was the focus of the exhibition displayed at the Onassis Cultural Centre in Athens, Greece. It was an unforgettable experience to see the work of one of the most prolific photographers of the fashion world. Powerful women in provocative and seductive poses that reflected the sexual revolution of the era. I loved the one hour video about him and his work filmed by his wife. OMG! You should see how gorgeous Cindy Crawford looked on that film!

“This retrospective covers the core aspects of his provocative and often shocking oeuvre, which include fashion, nudes, portraits, sex and humour. Newton’s classic photography transcends fashion and marks him out as an artist who, brushing aside the limitations imposed by his medium, experimented with subjects and genres; he expanded the scope of contemporary visual culture with his singular vision.”
