Decorating a buffet table during summer starts with a simple, delicious, colorful iced tea in a generously sized clear pitcher. A lovely healthy light drink that will cool off your friends.
Four Healthy Iced Tea Recipes
1. Mint-Ginger Iced Tea
6 ounces fresh ginger, peeled and smashed with a meat mallet
4 bags mint tea
8 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons honey
Ice
Mint sprigs
lemon sliced
In a large pot, combine ginger, mint tea, and boiling water. Let steep 8 minutes. Pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a large container.
Stir in honey. Let cool to room temperature, about 2 hours.
Serve over ice with mint sprigs.
2. Thai Iced Tea
8 cups of water
1.5 cups of Thai tea mix
¼ cup of honey
¼ cup of raw cane sugar
1 can of low fat coconut milk
Tip : While the tea is still hot, stir in honey & sugar until both dissolve. Add coconut milk at the end.
3. Raspberry Peach Iced Tea recipe
2 tea bags
1 cup raspberries, plus more for garnish
2 peaches, sliced, plus more for garnish
3 tablespoons agave nectar, or more to taste
Mint leaves, for garnish
Steep tea bags in 4 cups boiling water according to package instructions – discard tea bags and let them cool.
Combine peaches, raspberries and agave nectar in blender until smooth – strain through fine sieve.
In a large pitcher, whisk together raspberry peach mixture and brewed tea. Place in refrigerator until chilled.
If desired, serve over ice, raspberries, peach slices and mint leaves.
4. Low Calorie Basil and Lemon Iced Tea
2 lemon tea bags
2 liters water
zest of 1 whole lemon
lemon sliced
1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
4 table spoons stevia
Make first the syrup by combining 1 cup of water stevia in a small saucepan. Mix ingredients and add ice.
