Personal Style- My mother’s Vintage Chanel dress

2 Trendsurvivor Vintage Dress Chanel Red biker jacket01

As skirts are getting fuller and longer, I remembered a beautiful midi vintage Chanel dress my mother gave me a few months back. I know, lucky me she loved buying high quality timeless designer clothes and she usually gifts them to me. 🙂 The dress is made of soft silk in an amazing blue and white zebra like print. She used to wear it with the blue Chanel coat you have seen me update with a Maison Martin Margiela skirt from the collaboration with H&M here.

However, wearing the two together felt too retro for my style. For me the fastest way to update a vintage dress is by wearing a biker leather jacket, fashionable shoes and a trendy handbag. I wore my quilted red biker jacket I snatched at the Zara sales with my newly acquired Saint Laurant killer pumps and the cool Chanel boy bag. You like?

  1. First of all, you lucky lucky girl. If only my mum was so stylish that I could wear her clothes. Second of all, you styled this so perfectly with the biker jacket and the heels and of course that bag – so jealous of your ‘matching’ Chanel bag! I love the style of your heels from the back – you have the legs to rock heels and this gorgeous dress. LOVE IT!

    1. Oh thank you Colleen! I honestly feel lucky. It is great to have clothes you can pass to your children… She is so not into fast fashion…
