Vanity Fair: L’Avenue is the restaurant in Paris for the last of the ladies who lunch and the über-chic fashion set. We decided to dine there after the Chanel show, and it was a good thing we got there early, as an army of woman clad in tweed coats and Chanel baubles soon filled the place up. A must-have is the crab salad. Sit outside: the people watching is my idea of paradise.

Vanity Fair: Nicolas Ghesquière designs are calculated and purposeful, so it should come as no surprise that he’s of a similar mind where his jewelry is concerned. The rings, though sexy and sophisticated individually, set a harsher tone when styled all together. They say that in ancient times it was believed that each finger represented the qualities of a Greek god. Did Ghesquière have Apollo on the brain this season? I would dare to bet. . . .
