New Year’s Eve was fun and glamorous. Fun because we went to a cool stylish party and glamorous because we had the most amazing “fish eye” view of Athens and the Acropolis. I guess those of you who follow me on intagram @trendsurvivor saw that I tried hard to capture the Acropolis fireworks with my iPhone. Anyway, I wore a vintage LBD Yves Saint Laurant maxi dress I got from Harvey Nichols years ago, when Tom Ford was still designing for Gucci and YSL. Just to remind you, when Gucci acquired Yves Saint Laurent, Ford was named the creative director and won numerous Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards and created the most amazing clothes. Like his work at Gucci, Ford was able to catapult the classic fashion house back into the mainstream (more here) I love it when I shop for quality instead of quantity. The crystal decorated shoes I was wearing are by Sergio Rossi. However, the one day I wanted to look my best, my hair turned out curly instead of wavy. Grr.. I don’t think you want to hear that story.. Elena did my festive evening makeup. Smokey eyes, winged eyeliner and dark pink lipstick. Sounds too much but I think it looked ok because I was wearing black…
My last year’s style resolution was to wear more color, which I actually did compared to 2011. For this year I want to organize my clothes, my shoes and my accessories so I can make the most out of them. I want to turn my “office”, a small bedroom with a desk, into a giant open closet which I plan to keep tidy at all times, like my friend Vassia. Her tip for maintaining order in your cupboards, is anything you take out you put it back in it’s place the same day. Did you make your New Year’s resolutions? What are your style dreams?

I loved blogger’s Emily Schuman (Cupcakes and cashmere) New Year’s Thoughts… especially…”Climb back into bed on the weekends without feeling guilty.” I definitely want to do that!
Have a lovely Day!!!
