Just when I started getting a little bored with the existing magazines I read, Net-a-porter will launch a new free, weekly online magazine called The Edit. It will be available from the site beginning today. Natalie Massanet always described the Net-a-porter e-commerce site as a luxury fashion magazine online but the web site is now owned by Compagnie Financière Richemont SA. It seems they have the same vision, the online magazine will have 52 themed editions annually. The 30 page, Edit will feature fashion shoots that will allow readers to buy directly from the pages, as well as news, features and interviews with women from around the world. I am constantly impressed with how editors become retailers and retailers editors. What do you think?
