My Cookbook : How to make your sour grapes … sweet!

Hi Girls!!! Grapes are in season and they are sweet and tasty but somehow I managed to buy he worst kind…They looked a bit yellow-greenish but  I thought they would be sweet. I was so wrong they were very sour and with extra thick skin. So, I decided to make a grapes sweet called gliko tou koytaliou… spoon sweet … I guess because it is so sweet you can only eat one spoonful or because it is served in a tiny plate and you eat it with a spoon. If any of my Greek readers knows write a comment…It was an unwinding experience and it tastes great with yogurt or ice-cream.

Ingredients :

2 kilos grapes
1.5 kilo sugar
cinnamon sticks
dried carnation
1/2 lemon
fresh grapes

I boiled the grapes with the sugar and 1/2 cup water for 10 minutes and the next day I boiled them again for 10 minutes. I added the juice from 1/2 a lemon and poured carefully the sweet grapes in a vase and added 2 cinnamon sticks and a few dried carnation. That was all and it tastes amazing!!! You can also eat it as a marmalade with bread!
Keep it refrigerated …

Have a lovely Day!!!
