DIY // How to make embroidered ETRO jeans?

Time for an embroidered ETRO jeans inspired DIY project!

I fell in love with embellished ETRO jeans, except for the over 1,000 euro price tag. Surprisingly enough it has sold out at Farfetch  and Net-A-Porter . However, you can only find it at Etro.com for $1,670.

Inspecting the images I though, that is not so hard to recreate…

Downtown Athens, I found some amazing braided and beaded strings that are used mainly for making sandals. I grabbed a few of my favorites, combined them and voila…

I made a pair of embroidered ETRO jeans inspired pants and a a pair of shorts…

1… Find a mid-high waist pair of jeans or shorts. I chose one that has 98% cotton and 2% elastane

2…Shop 5, 6 different braided and beaded strings

3… Use pins to put them in place. Careful to leave a little extra space between the pins if your jeans is stretch

4… Let a seamstress do the sewing. At least this is what I did.
