One of my favorite shops in London is the Joseph multi-brand store in Fulham road. It hosts an eclectic selection of designer brands from Valentino to Mary Katrantzou to Azzedine Alaia to name a few.
Joseph was revolutionary in scouting cutting-edge designers from Paris and was the first to bring some of the most influential designers to London, including Azzedine Alaia, Kenzo, Emmanuelle Khanh and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
You can see some of my favorites from the SS2015 collection in my short London Window Shopping tour.
Does anyone of you remember the big Kenzo store in Sloane street?
Anyway, when this store has 60% sale my mind blocks. After checking carefully every single item on sale, I was torn between the Josephina animal print stilettos by Tabitha Simmons and the Christian Louboutin clutch. The leopard shoes feature the same buckled caged straps and pin-thin stiletto heel the label is renowned for and the clutch a hybrid also wallet-clutch.
I had to call Niki, my daughter for help…
I am huge admirer of the model turned world renowned stylist and shoe designer. Tabitha is also a contributing editor at the American edition of Vogue.
Are they comfortable? But if comfort was your goal would you buy high heel stilettos in the first place?
Heels are to make you taller and bust your confidence.
Love the article I read about High heels history in Racked. The Male-Dominated, Power-Hungry History of High Heels
Heels also made people taller. This was especially impressive because height has always been considered a sign of dominance. People who reference Henry VIII often talk about how godly he seemed, as he stood 6’2″ in the 1500s. Men wanted to look taller and therefore more intimidating; high heels weren’t supposed to be pretty, they were supposed to be kind of scary. If you believe Dita von Teese, who said, “Heels and red lipstick will put the fear of god into people,” they’re still scary.
Even though she hates leopard these beauties passed while the bag was her favorite. As it turned out this cute wallet clutch is part of the main Louboutin collection and is available each season.
And thanks to Vicky Archer I sent the above pic to Niki’s phone for approval…
Got both ….
I can always resell them at vestiairecollective.com after I have worn them a few times.
