Jewelry Exhibitions Athens- Historic Islamic and Contemporary Greek Jewelry Art

Historic Islamic-Artistic Greek

The only reason I am posting Historic Islamic and contemporary artistic Greek jewelry at the same time is because I took the pictures the same day. I attended two art openings one at the Benaki Museum of Islamic art and the other at El.Marneri Creative Gallery and I am sharing my experience…

The Benaki Museum collection of Islamic art, which includes examples of all its local variations from as far as India, Persia, Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, the Middle East, Arabia, Egypt, North Africa, Sicily and Spain, ranks among the most important in the world. I was impressed by the amazing jewelry. This stately neoclassical complex of buildings exhibits more than 8000 items covering the 12th to 19th centuries, including weavings, carvings, prayer carpets, tiles, ceramics and a 17th-century reception room from a Cairo mansion. You can find more here.
