My sister Yanna now lives in New Zealand and I’m sharing her new easy healthy chocolate smoothie recipe; it’s filling and full of nutrients. It won’t make you sleepy so a good choice for lunch. Try it.

Healthy Chocolate Smoothie Ingredients
[br]
[br]
Use organic products whenever possible!
Almond milk (I filled the blender under half)
2 medjool dates
1 frozen banana (had previously cut it in pieces and stored in freezer in a plastic bag)
1 teaspoon of almond butter
1 teaspoon of raw cacao powder (important that is raw and ideally organic)
A few ice-cubes
Decent straws (you want bigger than usual as it’s a smoothie)
Blend all together!
Important to drink it with a straw as this forces you to drink it slower.
It is so wonderful and full of nutrients that acts as lunch. You won’t get hungry till dinner. Honest!

Benefits
[br]
Cacao: antioxidants, iron, magnesium, heirloom (gluten & dairy free)
Almond butter & almond milk: magnesium, Omega-3 fatty acids, high in protein
Banana: High in Potasium, magnesium, vitamin B6
Dates: potassium, magnesium, iron, dietary fibre, vitamin B1, B2, B3 and B5 along with vitamin A1 and C. Excellent for those suffering from constipation.
P.S. Cacao does have cafeine and is therefore acidic but… we all need a good balance between alcaline and acid so for all its benefits I’m sure it’s good caffeine:D
