The Met Gala 2016 evening makeup trends were all about lighting up your cheekbones and eyes with shimmer and glitter. Check out how to use shimmering makeup in a stylish celebrity style way…
The Metropolitan Museum of Art closed down its palatial halls for the 2016 Met Gala, celebrating the Costume Institute’s “Manus x Machina” exhibition with a glittering display of hand- and machine-made couture.
All famous faces from Blake Lively, to Karlie Kloss, to Olivia Wilde, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Jourdan Dunn had a silver shadow.
Karlie Kloss looked absolutely stunning in her Brandon Maxwell dress with serious cut outs. She glowed using the L’Oréal golden illuminator on cheekbones, temples, collarbone, as well as under her neck, explained celeb makeup artist Sir John. Another option is the NARS ‘Sheer Glow Foundation’ that delivers a naturally radiant finish with sheer, buildable coverage.
Also try out highlighters and contour kits that can replicate gala attendees’ shiny faces and gleaming cheeks.
Brightening contour Hourglass’ ‘Ambient Lighting Edit’ palette is a collection of the label’s best-selling powders designed to give you everything you need to finish.
Illuminating Bronzer : Burberry Beauty’s ‘London With Love’ palette gives skin a natural sun-kissed glow.
Subtle shimmer : Perfect for warm-toned complexions, this pearlescent peach shade is packed with gold to create a subtle shimmer. You can mix with moisturizer on days when you want to wear less makeup.
Highlighting Blush : “Highlighters are a great way to subtly contour,” says NARS founder François.
