Easy Yummy Hummus Recipe

Hummus served bowl

I love this easy hummus recipe! One of my favorite dips ever… my guests can’t get enough of it. I serve it with fresh vegetables but you can always offer pitta bread like they do at True Food Kitchen.

It is a perfect easy to make appetizer like guacamole!

I even use it as a sauce for grilled chicken when I am on a diet and it tastes amazing.

For the easy hummus recipe you will need:

Chickpeas 1/2 kilo

Garlic

Olive oil 1 teaspoon

Tahini 2 teaspoons

Salt

Lemons 3, 4 (depends how you like it )

Baking Soda 1 spoon (for soaking)

hummus-before-blending

How to make hummus:

Soak chickpeas overnight in water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda.

Wash the chickpeas and then boil. Keep a cup of the water to make your hummus thinner if needed…

Squeeze the lemons.

Making the hummus is simple really. Add ingredients to your food processor starting with tahini and lemon. Then, before you add anything else, turn on the food processor and let it run for a minutes or so. As you add the ingredients adjust the portion according to your taste.

Note: Use skinless chickpeas if you want a smoother hummus

  1. So funny you’d share a recipe for hummus, because I was just telling my husband the other day how much I wanted to make hummus. I even bought the chickpeas and some pita chips to have with it! 🙂 I’ll have to try your recipe. DEF need to make some this week.
Thanks so much for sharing with us at Delicious Dish Tuesday!! We hope to see you back this week with another great recipe! 🙂

    1. It’s really easy because you add the ingredients according to your taste. I like it with more lemon and less oil…
