Very often I get sick in winter and when I do, I usually resort to medication.
however, this year I want to make it through with my body stronger than before and building up natural immunities. Also, I am using homeopathic medicine so I am not allowed to drink black tea.
Right now I am loving this simple and delicious turmeric and ginger tea which I drink especially in the depths of winter.
Ingredients Detox Tea
turmeric (to taste)
2-3 slices of lemon
1-inch chunk of ginger root
honey (optional) to taste
cayenne (optional) to taste
Grab a jar or your favorite large mug and boil water.
Tip: let the water sit for a few minutes, so that it doesn’t scorch the ingredients.
Turmeric is an antiseptic and antibacterial (key!), and is packed full of other good stuff like fiber, iron, manganese, vitamin B6, and potassium, to name a few. Start off with just a pinch and work your way up to 1/4 of a teaspoon.
For the ginger, I use the cheese grater but you can crush it in a garlic press to get the most flavor. However, slicing or dicing works too.
For a lot of vitamin C use 3 lemons
