Wedding etiquette question answered, yes, you can wear black wedding guest dresses. Wedding guest myth number 1… basted…
You can wear all black to a wedding? I thought it was a no-no but in most cultures it is not.
“As long as a black dress feels festive, it’s fine for a wedding!” according to the author Kimberly Schlegel Whitman of the best selling book Wedding Workbook, The: A Time Saving Guide for the Busy Bride.
I was invited in Lydia’s Gkoritsa wedding last Sunday in Paros and I brought with me a black long Grecian gown by Raoul I bought this winter. Long black dresses are such a big trend this summer and I couldn’t resist.
I fell in love with the incredible shot in Numéro, July 2013, featuring a black Roberto Cavalli SS 2013 embroidered gown I had to share it along with some amazing long black dresses worn by style icons. Finding the perfect dress that makes you stand out in a good sense and simultaneously fits the dress code of the occasion a can be frustrating. I say you can wear a long black gown and let the beautiful bride shine in white!
Chose your amazing black wedding guest dress from my hotlist
I will show tomorrow what I wore at the wedding…
Have a lovely Day!!!
Ohh yeah, black dresses do look awesome! I guess I would not wear black to a wedding because I usually wear black and I feel like putting on some pastels to weddings for a change:) But I don’t think it’s inappropriate. Love the collection of your picks!
I usually wear black in winter but this summer it feels fresh…
The Roberto Cavalli for Numero is just AMAZING ! I think I could even GET married in that dress… (and sleep in it for the rest of my life !)
