I don’t know about you but August is the time I start thinking about Fall trends and new season outfits. Even though I have followed the fashion shows, it is this time of the year,  I like identifying the trends and shopping the hot items that will probably sell out before Winter arrives.

I just found the key pieces that will update and refresh my wardrobe. If sales is the time to shop your staples, the beginning of the season is the time to get your game changers. You can mix the must haves with what you already have and fell totally refreshed.

I recently read an article at Style.com about 16 influencers sharing their new fall wardrobe and I chose my three favorites :

1. The Knit dress

Luisa Via Roma stylist advice, Diletta Bonaiuti, Stylist

Diletta Bonaiuti, Stylist at Luisa Via Roma said “The summer has just begun—we have a lot of time to think about what to buy from winter collections, but I have no doubts about these Miu Miu (block heel) ankle boots and this Proenza Schouler (cable knit) dress!

2. The block heel ballerina shoes

Sabrina de Sousa and Alissa Wagner, co-owners of Dimes said about the Maryam Nassir Zadeh Roberta Ballerina pumps (round front block heel) that they are the perfect liaison for late summer- early fall and day/night.

I have this trend covered with the Valentino red tango pumps I got in Spring. Get ready to see the stacked kitten heel everywhere because This season, designers are proving that a sky high heel is not the only shoe that can make an outfit cool. Never thought I would say that.

3. The Chloe bag

The Chloe “it’ bag is called Faye and it’s the small version that the trendsetters are liking for Fall. As I got the Drew last year this is definitely my next bag purchase.

4. The oversized knit

Erica Choi Digital art director, Barneys New York said :  Cooler weather calls for cozy cover-ups, and this Stella McCartney number  (grey wrap front cardigan) will keep me warm. The gray color is also just so lush and a nice alternative to the all-black uniform that comes in the winter. This Chloé (Faye) bag in black has been my go-to this summer, but this lighter color would be perfect with the changing of autumn leaves.

4. The block kitten heel shoes

Even though the pointy Aquazzura Christy lace-ups are still one of the coveted sold out items I see a change towards round front shoes and block heels.

5. The one shoulder dress

This will be the new favorite. If summer was about off the shoulder tops and dresses, Fall will be one shoulder blouses and evening dresses.

If you need a cocktail dress check the Club Monaco Karena one shoulder dress it adds a dramatic touch and has a reasonable price.

6. The flounce hem skirt or dress or both

The flounce hem is both flirty and fun. I first saw it at the Mary Katranztou keno-phobia fashion show in London and fell in love. If you are anything like me, check your closet you might have this style from the 1990s.

7.  High waist pants

If at 2014-15 pants were high… now they are higher. You want long, lean legs and a teeny tiny waist right?

How could a very comprehensive trend guide not include the right coat?

8. The Red Plaid Jacket

One of my favorites from last season was the Isabel Marant red plaid jacket. The same is available but also a new version with contrast cuffs has arrived.

9. The nouveau Victorian blouse

You know which one I mean? The one with the ruffles and the bows worn a few centuries ago…

Get ready to welcome Fall in style…
