Flying-Carpet-by-Kurt-Wenner

Interactive 3D art pavement illusions are Kurt Wenner’s most known art works. I was impressed with “The Flying Carpet” by Kurt Wenner, a three-dimensional street art in Bettona, Italy. He is an American artist, former NASA scientific illustrator and he creates the most impressive anamorphic works of 3D art. His work also includes large-scale oil paintings, ceramic murals, sculptures, decorations, 3D installations, and architectural designs for public and private clients in more than 30 countries. He also creates educational materials, gives lectures and demonstrations. Kurt Wenner has been awarded The Kennedy Center Medallion in recognition for outstanding contribution to arts education.

“In cities and towns throughout the world pedestrians may see a patch of sidewalk or paved surface decorated with chalk or pastels. Although this art form is new to most countries, it has a long tradition in Europe and is thought to have originated in Italy during the 16th century.” explains Kurt Wenner. You can see more here

“Making a street painting is a lot like constructing a sand castle: while working on one part, another part is eroding… Street painting is a constant reminder that art is about process rather than product.” — Kurt Wenner
